Popular relationship app Tinder suffered a short outage after its customers obtained caught in Facebook login course of the place they have been requested for additional permissions, solely to be despatched again to the unique Facebook log-in request.
Confirming the glitch, the relationship app tweeted late on Wednesday: “A technical issue is preventing users from logging into Tinder. We apologise for the inconvenience and are working to have everyone swiping again soon.”
Tinder customers confronted login points within the wake of Facebook altering its developer frameworks within the identify of “improving data privacy”, in accordance with Engadget.
Since a consumer wants a Facebook account to log into Tinder, this bug has reportedly affected Tinder’s complete consumer base.
“The social network has confirmed that these problems were ‘part of the changes’ and that it’s ‘working with Tinder’ to fix the problem,” the Engadget report added.
Facebook has been rolling out extra safety and information privateness updates ever because it was hit by Cambridge Analytica information privateness scandal during which tens of millions of customers had their information improperly shared with the UK-based information mining agency.
Meanwhile, Tinder customers took to Twitter and complained that they’d been “kicked off” the relationship app and that they might not signal again on.
