A Facebook government stated in an inner memo in 2016 that the social media firm wanted to pursue including customers above all else, BuzzFeed News reported on Thursday, prompting disavowals from the manager and Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg stood by Bosworth, who goes by the nickname “Boz,” whereas distancing himself from the memo’s contents. Bosworth confirmed the memo’s authenticity however in an announcement he disavowed its message, saying its objective had been to encourage debate.
